WHAT IS THE IMVG?

IMVG The Painted City is a tool for public and community based art in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain). Our objective is to produce public works of art by actively involving professional artists and citizens from all walks of life in the culture of the city.
IMVG produces murals on buildings in the medieval quarter of Vitoria-Gasteiz using a highly participative and collaborative working methodology, creating a street-level gallery where process and product are equally important.

IMVG stimulates creators to implicate themselves in their environment and encourages neighbors, citizens, etc to participate in creations that improve and beautify their neighborhoods.
SCAFFOLDS ARE DOWN, PAINTERS ARE GONE, WE´RE LEFT WITH COLOR!

IMVG The Painted City has added 2 more murals to its growing itinerary this summer.

This year´s murals are spectacular examples of teamwork, solidarity, creativity and perseverance through moments of crisis, heat and even hail! Let´s hear it for the artists´hard work and dedication!

We would like to thank all the volunteers, the young paintbrush brigades and the teams of artists who directed both projects. They met the challenge of transforming these immense facades successfully!

¡Congratulations to all!
